TAP
(ages 7+)
Our Tap classes emphasize rhythm, style and sound while wearing special tap dance shoes. Students will study the basic tap steps, combinations and rhythms, with an emphasis on developing proper technique and producing clear Tap sounds. The students will develop coordination and rhythmic ability.
JAZZ
(ages 7+)
Our Jazz classes emphasize rhythm, coordination, strength, flexibility and isolation of movement. The focus will be on learning proper dance technique, as well as improving performance quality.
PRE HIP-HOP
(ages 4-6 )
This class is designed to teach very young children the basics of isolation and coordination for Hip-Hop movements.
HIP HOP
(ages 7+)
This form of dance is seen on television in music videos. Hip-Hop evolved out of street and break dancing and is characterized by its athletic and bouncy style. Hip Hop is done primarily to Rap, R & B and Hip Hop music. It enhances coordination, strength, quickness and endurance.
BALLET
(ages 7+)
Our Ballet class for older children will introduce classical dance form. Classes will emphasize technique and proper body alignment, as well as flexibility, strength, grace, coordination, musicality and performance quality. Students will also study ballet terminology and history. A slow and steady progress is encouraged and emphasized. Point will be offered to those students evaluated at the end of class.
This form of dance, children will be introduced to pom style dance with cheer elements. Class will emphasize rhythm, coordination, strength, flexibility and isolation of movement. Dancer's will also be introduced to using poms while learning.
TINY TUMBLERS
(ages 3-5)
This class is designed to teach very young children the structure and basics of tumbling skills. Children will be introduced to arm, leg and feet positions, gentle stretches and appropriate body alignment. Basic skills are repeated each week to develop a strong foundation for young dancers.
TUMBLING
(ages 6 & up)
This class is designed to teach children the structure and basics of tumbling skills, Children will be introduced to arm, leg and feet positions, gentle stretches and appropriate body alignment. Basic skills are repeated each week to develop a strong foundation for dancers.
Please note: Placement is made at the discretion of the program Director and faculty. The first 2 weeks are assessment weeks. At this time teachers may require a student to move to a different class on level and ability. If you or your child feel the level of his/her class is not appropriate after 2 weeks, an evaluation may be requested. All decisions are made by professionals and are with your child’s best interest in mind.
