STUDIO OWNER & INSTRUCTOR

amber weiss

An instructor for over 20 years, and owner of Step 2 This - Amber studied dance throughout the Bay Area. She began competing at Regional Competitions at the age of 7 and won many Top awards. Amber studied ballet at Delta Ballet under the direction of (retired) Helga Isikata and started teaching dance at age 13. She was a Deer Valley High School Cheerleader, as well as a member of the Deer Valley Dance Squad, and choreographed routines for several high schools, Dance Studios and cheer organizations while in college. Over the years, Amber has fostered great relationships with other dance studios and choreographers within California. She is always networking with other dance studios and Choreographers to bring workshops and up-to-date instruction into East County.

BALLET INSTRUCTOR

haley lamb

Haley has been dancing for 20 years and is excited to pass on her passion and knowledge of dance. She studied at Academy of Arts and Ballet under the direction of Arlene Newhouse and Yvette Del Monte Madrigal. She was also a member of the Ballet Celeste and Theatre Ballet of San Francisco. Haley was an apprentice with Diablo Ballet, under the direction of Viktor Kabanaiev and Tina Kay Bohnstedt and trained in the classical form of Russian Vaganova ballet. Haley has attended many summer ballet intensives, includinga Contra Costa Ballet School, San Francisco Ballet School, Lines Ballet, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, and the Kirov Ballet Academy, where she received a scholarship to attend full time. Haley graduated from UC Davis with a BS in Biological Sciences and was a founding member of the Davis Ballet Company.

TAP & HIP HOP INSTRUCTOR
katherine galindo

Katherine has been teaching Tap and Hip Hop for the past 20 years and is highly regarded by both her peers, students and parents. She grew up studying all styles of dance in the San Francisco Bay area, but found her true passion after taking her very first tap class. She has further studied with notable teachers such as Gregg Russell, Kaelyn Gray, Cory Finn, Mike Minery and Mark Mendonca. Katherine's choreography has garnered numerous high point awards and special judge’s awards - most notably 2 Industry Dance Award Regional Nominations and the Al Gilbert Tap Excellence Award. Katherine holds a deep passion for helping beginning through advanced level dancers of all age explore and discover their own joy through the expression of dance.
